Diphu–Matipung and Birla-Rongplimplam road work executed beyond estimates: PAC

DIPHU, May 06: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assam Legislative Assembly today reviewd the implementation of various government schemes and projects executed in the hill district of Karbi Anglong. In this connection a meeting with departmental officers was held at the Diphu Circuit House Conference Hall here today.
Committee chairman and MLA Wazid Ali Chaudhury while speaking to media later stated construction of the road stretching Diphu Post Office to Matipung and the road connecting highway from Birla to Rongplimplam have been exceeded beyond the estimate and therefore, it has to be taken up in Dispur with the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). The PAC chairman said that with the exception of the two the execution of developmental schemes and project works were satisfactory.
On the allegation of overlapping of the project, PAC chairman Ali informed that they have sought the report and action will be taken if anything wrong is detected.
